How it works
Exact mechanism unknown; hypothesized to inhibit COX in CNS. Weak anti-inflammatory; safe in cancer.
Safe, gentle analgesic. Preferred over NSAIDs in cancer (bleeding + renal risk). Max 4 g/day — reduce to 2–3 g/day in hepatic impairment, chronic alcohol use, or concurrent hepatotoxic chemotherapy (gemcitabine, 5-FU). Check total daily intake including OTC combination products.
